The refurbishments at the Gasthaus zur Post enter their second stage
Earlier this year, in spring of 2020, MEBAG directed the planning, coordinating and execution of the first phase to refurbish the Gasthaus zur Post in Sattel (SZ). To ensure that the terrace of the inn could be used undisturbed during the summer months, we paused the renovation work during this time. Now that the days are getting shorter and the air is slowly getting cooler, the refurbishments at the inn can enter the next stage.
This phase of the renovation work on the historic building includes the renewal of the façade and the roof. The façade cladding will be entirely replaced. The roof will be newly refitted, and its insulation will be brought up to modern standards, making the building highly energy efficient. However, the exterior is not the only aspect of the building facing changes in this point of the project: parts of the interior will also undergo fundamental alterations. Since the early summer refurbishments of the, basement, ground floor and first floor, renovation work will now be carried out on the second floor and the attic. Here, all non-load-bearing walls will be removed and replaced with new walls to create the desired guest rooms to welcome the inn’s guests.
